Why We Like The Freerider Pro Primeblue Cycling Shoe

We throw on our Freerider pro’s from FiveTen in any bike situation, from running to the coffee shop or hitting the next alpine descent. These shoes are most comfortable in the bike park, though, and their skate-shoe style sole keeps us glued to the pedals for maximum efficiency.

Zero Grip

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
10

Purchased these for BMX racing as I'd heard good things about 5 10's comfort compared to Vans. These matched my sponsor's kit and the environmentally responsible part was a bonus. However these had the worst grip of any shoes I've ever used. Slipped pedals nearly caused me to crash and cost me a transfer spot at several races. I put longer pins in my pedals and gave them another try, same result. I took them off and threw them in the nearest trash can.

These are not freerider pro shoes

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Size Bought:
14
Height:
6' 2"
Weight:
180

I have been wearing freerider pro shoes for 3 years until they disappeared last year. I was really excited to see them come back this year. I bought the primeblue version because if I can make a choice to help the environment I will. These shoes are not freerider pro shoes except for in name. They look like freerider pros but they have the worst pedal grip of any flat shoe I have ever worn. I have tried these shoes with two different sets of pedals to see if just a bad pedal match and they were awful on both. On freerider pros I may have one slipped foot off a pedal in a month across 16 - 20 rides. On the last two rides with these shoes I slipped my foot on the pedal over 10 times on each ride. These shoes are dangerous. I am going to be attempting to return them. They are hands down worst flat pedal shoes I have ever worn.
